i may never buy anything but skechers again December 26, 2008
i've always been put off by the $40-$60 price tag on skechers for kids (who will outgrow them in six months anyway.) but after my kindergarteners wore out their $20 walmart spiderman shoes in under three months (and i mean wore the heck OUT... soles peeling off, holes all the way through the uppers, velcro peeling off and won't hold anymore anyway, utterly TRASHED) i looked on amazon for new shoes, was impressed by the reviews on this series of skechers, and found these particular skechers for just over $20 each pair. and two months later, the darned things still look brand new. fit is great (a lot of cheaper shoes will be very narrow, and these fit my wide-footed boys without having to go up a size.) the velcro is very strong and still works like new. the lights in the toes of one of the four shoes have gone out in the last week - but my kids don't care, and neither do i. and they do look pretty freakin cool, too. the multi-colored lights are really cool, much brighter and more striking than any other lighted shoes we've ever owned (and after 4 boys, we've owned a lot.) i wear skechers myself, and i think my boys will from now on, too. if you look around for just a few minutes, you can always find some style from some third-party seller for a lot less than list price (every other color of this style was $50, but for $22, the boys were perfectly happy to have army green with orange trim instead of the blue and red they originally requested.)
