I have always been impressed with the fit and finish of Geoffrey Bean shirts. The comfort and wearability is unsurpassed. Many years ago i was almost discouraged because of problems with some of the interfacing taking on a discoloration following professional cleaning and pressing but over the past 5 -7 years that problem has never resurfaced. The current shirts, especially the sateen fasbric, come back week after week from the cleaners in new like condition.
This transaction was flawless. The shirt arrived in perfect condition wrapped in plastic. Standard shipping was quick and reasonable.

The greyish purple shirt I bought had a rich color, fit beautifully and washed well. After owning it less than a month, however, it looked faded and ragged on the edges. The shirt looks fine with jeans now, but not the slacks and ties it was originally purchased for. I was very disappointed in the colorfastness and material quality, especially from Geoffrey Beene.

The shirt is okay, seems well made. It's a little bit on the shiny side, which I don't like in a shirt, so I sent it back. Just a warning for people considering this shirt, since it doesn't appear to be shiny from the product pictures.

This is a great shirt. I'd give it 5 stars for look, and quality.
4 for price and fit.
I have found fitted "Sateen" Geoffrey Beene shirts for less than $20, but not in "Black Velvet" so I bought mine online. The shirt is BEAUTIFUL. Everyone that has seen it has commented on the luster. It isn't a dull black, it shines like satin and it will make you look good.
I had hoped it would be a bit more fitted. Just for reference I am 5'8" with a 30 inch waist and I thought it could be a bit slimmer.
All in all, great product I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to look good.
PERFECT SHIRT!!! May 26, 2008
My husband owns two of these, one in grey and one in white. He's a hard to please guy in the dress shirt department, not to mention that he has a few tattoos on his arms and chest that make lots of dress shirts look kind of icky. With this one, he is cool (we live in the south) and comfortable, not to mention the tattoos don't conduct thier own peep show at inoportune times. The fitting on the shirt is streamlined but not tight (that says a lot because where my guy isn't fat, he's not delicate either) so it looks great worn with or without a suit. He always gets compliments on his shirts, and on my side of the equasion, they feel so silky and wonderful, they don't stain easily, and clean up with no fuss. Short short answer : He looks hot! He feels cool. We go home. I take shirt off. 'Nuff said. ;)
